Roxy Poker is another online poker room operating on the PrimaPoker network of card rooms. The main benefit of this to the online poker player is that there is a relatively substantial base of players and thus it is usually very easy to get a game started in reasonable time. A decent selection of games is provided by Roxy Poker / PrimaPoker, and the software is reliable with some reasonable features such as the ‘Quick Start’ option, whereby the player enters the specifications of the game in which he/she would like to play and a shortlist of options is subsequently provided. Roxy Poker faces tough competition from within the walls of PrimaPoker by the likes of 32Red Poker, Crazy Poker and Bet365 Poker, who currently offer more competitive bonuses.
Roxy Poker’s game client features a pop-up menu which the player can use to change the table’s size, check their current amount of raked hands and change their seat. Taking notes on other players during poker games is also supported. There is also a Quick Start menu as described in the overview.
The stake-range at Roxy Poker accomodates players of all budgets, with tourneys ranging from $0.75 + $0.25 to (at the time of writing) to the maxi rounder $2200 + $220 and ring games from $0.02 / $0.04 (PL) and 0.05/0.10 (Lim) to $100 / $200 (all).
Roxy Poker freerolls run on a daily basis and consist of three $1,000 freerolls for which there is a play requirement of 100 raked hands during the 24 hours prior to the event, one $1,000 no-obligation freeroll and one $200 no-obligation freeroll.
Roxy Poker Bonus
The Roxy Poker bonus comprises a 25% addition up to $50 (ie deposit $200 for the maximum $50 bonus).
Player Numbers and Growth
Being a member of PrimaPoker, player numbers are fairly large and quite steady. PrimaPoker reports growth as ‘steady’ on its website.
‘Shoot Out Sunday’: a $100,000 gtd tournament. $20,000 weekday guaranteed tournaments. WPT satellites.
1. How easy is the Roxy Poker bonus to clear?
2. What are the negative points, if any?
The Roxy poker bonus is a tough one to clear. Players must play ten times the bonus in raked hands on tables of $0.25/$0.50 and above; this in itself is the standard play-through requirement, but in order to withdraw a successfully cleared bonus at Roxy Poker, players must play raked hands to the value of six times the deposit and bonus (ie if a player deposits $100 for the $25 bonus, they must play 6 x 125 = 750 raked hands). to play 300 raked hands for a $10 bonus is at the very extreme end of play-through bonus requirements, and is very disappointing.
The bonus requirement as discussed above is a big negative, while there is also the fact that some players don’t especially like PrimaPoker card rooms.
The rake at Roxy poker is standard 0-5% no flop no drop.

Roxy Poker has all the assets of a Primapoker card room, but in light of the playthrough requirements for its 25% bonus it is difficult to put it forward as a recommendation at this moment in time.
